Our student leadership team
Empowering young voices: student leadership at Dixons Fazakerley Academy
At Dixons Fazakerley Academy, we are committed to creating a school community where every student feels heard, understood, and empowered. One of the ways we bring this to life is through our newly launched student leadership team, a group of passionate, driven students who are leading meaningful change within our academy.
What is the student leadership team?
Our student leadership team is made up of representatives from across all year groups, carefully selected for their dedication, character, and potential to inspire others. These students act as advocates for their peers, work collaboratively with staff, and help drive initiatives that make our school a more inclusive and engaging place to learn.
Their mission is simple but powerful:
To amplify student voice, lead by example, and champion causes that matter.
Raising awareness through student led inclusion initiatives
One of our Year 7 students has taken a leading role in launching a project focused on increasing awareness and understanding of different special educational needs and additional learning needs across the academy.
Recognising the importance of inclusion and empathy, our team have:
- Researched a range of additional needs.
- Created accessible, informative content.
- Organised this information into a dedicated awareness board in our academy dining are.
This board isn’t just a display, it’s a growing, dynamic resource that will be updated monthly, with each month spotlighting a different condition. The first focus is on ADHD, offering key facts, helpful strategies, and guidance for both students and staff. The goal? To ensure that every student, especially those facing additional challenges, feels seen, supported, and understood.
We are incredibly proud of our students for showing initiative, compassion, and leadership. Their commitment to educating others and championing inclusivity is already making a real difference in our school culture.
