Year 9 Outward Bound Ullswater Trip
Posted 20th September 2024
Today we say farewell to our last group of year 9 students who embarked on a wonderful adventure at the Outward Bound Centre in Ullswater. We have been extremely lucky that the beautiful weather enhanced our experience!
This time, students engaged in a variety of activities, including hiking, abseiling and cliff jumping. These challenges certainly fostered resilience, teamwork and leadership. Leading staff spoke highly of students' achievements and their determination to push through difficulties along the way. As they navigated the rugged terrain, students demonstrated our school values of determination and respect, supporting each other through each obstacle. Evening campfires, where they enjoyed warming marshmallows, provided moments of reflection whilst taking in the beauty of starry nights.
These experiences have not just been memorable; they have most definitely equipped our students with essential life skills applicable in both real world situations and academic pursuits. The lessons learned during this trip will undoubtedly influence their approach to challenges in the classroom and beyond, encouraging a mindset of perseverance and a spirit of adventure that we are hoping will last a lifetime!
Well done year 9, we are proud of you!
