Discovering French cinema and Holocaust history at the Into Film Festival
Posted 20th November 2025
A memorable morning at the Into Film Festival!
This week, 44 students from Years 9 and 10 enjoyed an incredible opportunity to attend the Into Film Festival at the Birkenhead cinema. They watched The Most Precious of Cargoes, a powerful French-language film set during the Holocaust. The story follows a lumberjack’s wife who discovers an abandoned baby girl during wartime, a meeting that changes the lives of the couple and all those connected to the child.
The film was deeply moving and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impression on our students. Many shared how impactful the experience was, with some even brought to tears.
Their behaviour throughout the trip was exemplary. Every student greeted and thanked the coach driver and cinema staff, showing kindness and respect at every stage. They were an absolute credit to the school and a pleasure to accompany.
We are so proud of how they represented us!
