Building global connections: first meeting with our Brazilian partner school

We are delighted to share that our first online meeting with our partner school in Brazil took place on Tuesday, marking an exciting milestone in our international collaboration.

The one-hour meeting was held on Microsoft Teams and brought together pupils from both schools for a rich and engaging exchange. During the session, both classes delivered presentations about their schools, local regions and what daily life is like in England and Brazil. This provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to develop their presentation skills while learning about a different culture and way of life.

Following the presentations, pupils took part in a lively question-and-answer session. They asked thoughtful and curious questions, demonstrating genuine interest and respect for one another’s experiences. The discussion highlighted both the similarities and differences between our countries and prompted meaningful reflection and dialogue.

Our Year 9 pupils represented the school brilliantly throughout the meeting. They were confident, enthusiastic and fully engaged, and they should be very proud of the way they conducted themselves. This experience has been extremely valuable in developing their communication skills, cultural awareness and confidence when interacting with peers from another country.

This first meeting was a fantastic experience for everyone involved, and we look forward to building on this partnership and taking part in future collaborative activities with our Brazilian partner school.
