Wear red this Friday: stand together against racism
Date of Event: 16th October 2026

This Friday 16 October, pupils are invited to wear red in support of Show Racism the Red Card.
Wearing red is a simple but powerful way to show solidarity and stand united against racism and discrimination. By taking part, our academy community can demonstrate its commitment to respect, inclusion and equality for all.
This year marks the 12th anniversary of Wear Red Day. What began in 2014 with 7,000 participants has grown into a nationwide movement involving hundreds of thousands of people. In 2026, the campaign is aiming to reach an incredible milestone of one million supporters wearing red and standing proudly against racism.
Every heart and mind changed can make a difference, not just to one person, but to many others. By wearing red, we are showing our true colours and helping to create a society where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Pupils who choose not to wear red should attend in their normal academy uniform.
