At Dixons Fazakerley Academy, the culture is values-driven and focused on success for life so that every child can flourish academically, socially and personally. Our community is built on three core values — determination, integrity and respect — which are lived out daily through routines, relationships and expectations across the school, promoting both safety and achievement.
We combine clear expectations and consistent routines with a warm, supportive approach. Students are expected to be punctual, prepared, focused and proud of their uniform, helping them develop strong habits that underpin success in school and beyond. Staff provide encouragement and guidance so that every child feels safe, supported and able to meet these expectations.
Leaders and staff focus relentlessly on high standards and doing the simple things well every day. Students share this ambition: they are encouraged to aim high, respect others and take ownership of their learning so they can achieve now and build the character and confidence needed for their future. Our aim is that every student becomes a source of pride to every adult, a source of wonder to every visitor and a source of hope to every member of the community they pass.
We are proud of the wide range of opportunities available to students at Dixons Fazakerley Academy beyond lessons. Our enrichment programme includes clubs, sports, creative activities and competitions, giving every child the chance to discover interests, develop talents and build confidence, teamwork and resilience.
Alongside activities led by our own staff, we work with external partners to further support students’ personal development. These include Humanutopia, who support a mentoring programme where trained Year 10 mentors guide and encourage younger students, and Girlguiding, who work with our girls to strengthen confidence, leadership and voice.
We will also offer leadership pathways such as RAF Cadets and opportunities to take part in educational visits and trips, including visits abroad, helping students to broaden their horizons and develop independence. Through enrichment, leadership and competition, we aim to ensure every student grows not only academically but as a confident, well-rounded young person.
We care deeply about all of students and ensuring they thrive both academically and pastorally. Our curriculum is broad and balanced and complemented with a rich amount of extra curricular opportunities for our students.
Dixons Fazakerley Academy is part of a strong and experienced trust with a clear track record of improving schools and raising outcomes. Our academy has high expectations, a calm and purposeful culture and dedicated staff who care immensely about every child’s success.
Your child will be known, challenged and supported here and we will work in partnership with you to ensure they thrive.
We carefully assess progress so that teachers know exactly how each child is doing. Where support is needed, targeted interventions, additional teaching and personalised feedback are put in place. We are committed to ensuring every student, no matter their needs, receives the support required to succeed.
As your child prepares to join us in Year 7, we want to reassure you that we take great care to understand and support every student with additional needs from the very start. Our SEND team works closely with primary schools and families to gather detailed information, ensure staff understand effective strategies, and put the right support in place so students can access learning, feel confident and belong. We also provide additional transition opportunities — such as extra visits and meeting key adults — so that your child arrives feeling known, prepared and ready to thrive in our school community.
We take great care to help every child settle confidently into secondary school so they feel safe, prepared and supported from the very start. Before September, students have opportunities to visit the school, meet key staff and become familiar with routines and expectations. In the first weeks, advisors and pastoral staff provide close guidance, clear routines and regular check-ins so that students quickly feel confident, secure and ready to learn as part of the school community.
We recognise that for families, the move to secondary school can feel just as significant as it does for children.
Your child’s advisor will be your main point of contact and will get to know your child well. Alongside our formal parents’ evening later in the year, we hold a gallery evening in the first term. This gives families the opportunity to meet the advisor in person and, importantly, allows students to share their work, talk through what they have been learning and celebrate their early successes as they settle into secondary school.
We provide structured careers education and guidance so that students understand their post-16 options. Whether they choose sixth form, college, apprenticeships or employment, they leave with the qualifications, knowledge and character needed to succeed.
