Andrew Roberts

Assistant Principal

Andy joined Fazakerley in 2001 as a trainee teacher of Modern Foreign Languages. After gaining his first teaching position, Andy went on to lead the Department of MFL and, over the years, secured some of the best GCSE results in the city; many of his students have gone onto study degrees in French.

Andy has always been passionate about teaching MFL and has worked with local universities in the development of new trainees. Andy’s work on literacy in MFL was featured in a published work.

In 2010, Andy joined the Leadership Team at Fazakerley. Over the years, Andy has led on ITT, whole-school achievement data, transition, curriculum planning, timetabling and Teaching and Learning. He currently has stewardship over attendance and admissions.

Andy holds National College certificates in school leadership and in is a graduate of the nationally-recognised Future Leaders programme. Andy also holds the DSL qualification which he gained in 2024.

Having worked at Fazakerley for over two decades, Andy is wholly committed to the local community and to the young people of Fazakerley.

Andy’s sentence is: “He was a teacher and leader who inspired generations of Fazakerley students to become more than they ever thought they could be”.
