Stephen Garvey

Trust Vice Principal, North West

Stephen joined Dixons Academies in January 2021 as Trust Vice Principal to assist with leading our expansion into the North West. What motivates Stephen is his belief that education is the key to social progress. His personal philosophy is that an outstanding education system is the foundation for a fairer society where every child can thrive, no matter their background.

Stephen started his teaching career as a teacher of RE. During his career he has held several leadership roles, including Head of Department, Assistant Headteacher, and Deputy Headteacher. Most recently, Stephen has led on a transformational change model taking a school from special measures to an Ofsted grade of ‘good’ with outstanding features. He has developed expertise in leading and implementing successful strategies, in challenging circumstances, to bring about positive cultural change and improve the overall quality of education students receive.
